Race for Reading 5K Run & Walk to get books into the hands of children in Polk County!
Join RRITH's inaugural 5K Run & Walk to raise funding for children in a new Des Moines (50311) zip code and support children in current zip codes. Your registration provides funding to support Raising Readers in the Heartland's mission to mail one book each month for one year to a child enrolled in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Thanks for your help in supporting literacy in Polk County!
Registration begins at 8 AM (packet pick up also available on Friday evening from 4-7 PM at Trail Point entrance)
5K Run & Walk @ 9:00 AM - Dress like Dolly Parton to receive a special gift!
Kids’ 100M Race ($10) @ 10:00 AM (Age Groups: 3-5 years and 6-10 years)
Kids’ Fun Zone (FREE) 9:30-11:00 AM--Read Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors at the Story Trail as you interact with sponsors and kid-friendly activities!
Medals are awarded for the top 3 finishes in both overall men's and women's categories. The top 2 men and top 2 women in each age category also receive medals.
